“Can’t say enough about Ridgway Chiropractic’s AMAZING service! I have always been skeptical but when I found myself in dire need of some help due to my sciatic nerve acting up. After LITERALLY 1 visit with Caleb, I feel such a relief! He provides you with ways to help relieve other areas that may be bothersome as well! I had lingering knee pain on top of my back issues and he gave me great tips I’ve been using since visiting his office 🙏🏼”

Although most people are apprehensive about surgery, at times it is unavoidable. At Ridgway Chiropractic, we understand that and work closely with the surgeons and physical therapists to get you healthy and back to living your life pain free.

Like any significant trauma to the body, surgery creates an extensive amount of scar tissue as the body works diligently to heal itself. Despite this being part of the healing process, there are several unfavorable effects of scar tissue formation following surgery.

Post-surgical scar tissue unfavorably alters joint range of motion and severely restricts a muscles ability to lengthen and contract. As time goes on, more and more scar tissue is laid down limiting joint motion and as a result, altering motor patterns. The end result is decreased function and pain as the body attempts to compensate for the dysfunctional areas.

Although scar tissue is rarely painful itself, scar tissue adhesions compress nerves, blood vessels, and organs. This is often the source of pain and discomfort. Because scar tissue is composed of an inelastic fibrous matrix, its formation can bind down muscle tissues and restrict their ability to properly move and slide. Utilizing Active Release Technique® (ART), Dr. Ridgway evaluates the texture, tension, and movement of the problematic muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and fascia then implements a series of ART protocols to quickly and effectively remove scar tissue and restore proper function.

The removal of scar tissue is imperative to the rehabilitation process and should be addressed before the strengthening phase of recovery. At Ridgway Chiropractic, we work closely with you to remove the scar tissue, restore proper joint motion, and insure the correct motor patterns are being employed so you can return quickly and safely to the activities you enjoy.
